SIX YEARS AGO I WAS A COLLEGE DROP-OUT, WORKING 80+ HOURS A WEEK IN A SOUL-SUCKING JOB, STRUGGLING TO

I was working my you-know-what-off, but no matter how hard I worked it just wasn’t paying the bills. I felt like a total failure.
So in complete Jenn fashion, I did the deep inner work I needed to do to make a change and took a huge leap of faith...
I started my own coaching business.
Only problem? I was listening to everyone else. I wasn't doing what I *really* wanted to do (I just didn't know it yet).
And 6 months in I was on my knees ugly crying on my parents' cold brick kitchen floor...
Colleagues saw me as a big success story (I was scooping up clients left and right), but inside I was torn.
My business looked impressive on the outside, for sure. But I knew the truth: I wasn’t doing something that made my heart sing. And that was royally impacting my bottom line. Mentally and emotionally I was struggling but I just kept pushing because - how else was I going to buy groceries?
Until... I peeled myself off the floor, ugly cried a little bit more, and decided to do something absolutely terrifying — actually offer my writing services to my community.
Writing services that I didn’t know I had just a few months prior...
THAT'S WHEN I BECAME AN ACCIDENTAL COPYWRITING & MARKETING EXPERT...
Up until my ugly cry, I was just enjoying the camaraderie of my community. Helping them with their marketing materials. Suggesting design and word edits for their opt-in pages and emails and offers and stuff. I was genuinely amazed at the results they were getting because of my advice.
Little did I know that what I was doing for fun is something people do to make great money (and buy all the groceries they want)!
That's when my lightbulb moment struck…

Wait, businesses can't make money or gets clients without words. OMG. I LOVE WORDS!! I KNOW, RIGHT?! You should totally help people write words and get paid. Are you sure? No, but it seems a whole lot more fun than crying on this painful brick floor! OK. YAY! Let’s do it!
And in total Jenn fashion, I took another leap of faith.
I still remember writing that first offer...
My hands were shaking and my heart was pounding like a schoolgirl inches away from her first kiss.
I crossed my fingers, clicked ‘send’, and...
OVERNIGHT MY COPYWRITING
COMPANY WAS BORN. IT WASN’T
FANCY. OR FLASHY. THERE WAS
NO GLITZY WEBSITE LAUNCH PARTY.
But I did get 20 clients overnight and made an extra $2,000 that month. (Hello, groceries!)
That day I realized I really could grow a business that was equal parts what lights me up and what people want. That I can get paid handsomely for it and grow a business that reflects who I am and what I stand for.
